Lately, I have become fascinated with lines, whether in a staircase or on a wall or in the design of a train. I expect this fascination to last quite awhile so check back for new paintings!

I love animals! We have (currently) 3 cats, 2 dogs, a French Angora bunny and fish. And the farm animals around us are wonderful. I am so lucky to live in an area where farming is still done, some with simple horse and plow, and with such a variety of animals. Shown here is a sampling of some I have painted recently. I also love gardening. Many of the flowers I paint are from my own garden around my house.

At times I need to 'loosen up my wrist' and do some abstracts. I currently have been working on two themes. One based on waking dreams from 2016, the red series. And the second on nebulas. Both are emotional and I am really excited about them.

Sunsets are really amazing and ever changing. To capture one on canvas is so much better than a photograph. Somehow the emotion of a great sunset is lost on the lens. I feel this way about landscapes also. And after traveling some of the world, I can truly say that I live in one of the most beautiful areas. Some of my landscapes are done Plein Air, which is a term that means painting outside. I have been in quite a few plein air competitions in the area in every kind of weather.

Still lifes are just that. Life that is still. In a world now filled with motion and noise most of the time, I find the quite spaces are needed more than ever. Especially if there is food involved...

While clearing out my parents house I came across so many wonderful photographs. I wanted to do something with them so I have started a series of small paintings with shades of grey and only the people in color. I have to 'colorize' them as they are black/white images.
